Just an environmental professional who understands trees more than people.

I like trees. They are simple, glorious organisms. They were around long before some bi-pedal environmental engineers decided farming food staying in one place was a good idea. They will also be around long after that pesky species is gone. Probably. Whatever. The point is they know their place in the world and how to contribute to it. No second or third guessing for them! Cognizance is over rated.

People, on the other hand, are remarkably complex and the extraordinary lives we lead are something to be marveled at and explored so that maybe we might be able to make sense of what we are, who we are, and how we fit into the world around us. We don’t have it as easy a trees.
